agggh - flat tire - advice anyone?
anyone know anyone who knows anything about cars? if so, please forward them this entry. email to ji_sou AT yahoo DOT com. please.
i got a flat tire. as in gaping-hole flat tire. i have no donut. the "spare" in my trunk has a hole you can fit your hand through. yes, there was no advance planning on my part.
they sell donuts at the tire place for $35. they sell new tires for something like $40. to put them on and all that is $10. ok, good deal.
but i can't get there. and i can't afford to get it towed.
advice?
shall i take take my internet instructions and take my old tire off, take the rim to the tire place & have them put the new tire on the rim? then do the rest of it myself? or take my neighbor up on her offer of her donut - we have no idea if it fits (i dunno how standard those things are) and drive it to the tire place? patch the hole with a piece of duct tape and use some fix-a-flat and cross my fingers?
i have no idea how to take care of this, but i'm pretty sure any more trying to figure it out is going to make me cry. hep!

unless you can bike to work, walk to the grocery store and carry your scuba gear on your back the investment of a new tire and spare would probably be the best outcome for you - right? it's not hard to change a flat tire....not telling you what to do but if you can't do this on your own then what would happen if you were on the highway or in the middle of nowhere and got stuck (of course your cell is dead too so you can't call AAA)...every girl should know how to change a tire - you can do it!!

Yikes! Quite the predicament you're in there. You've inspired me to learn how to change a flat tire! (One day, maybe...)
