Unfortunately, getting documentation of this is nearly impossible. 1) I have horrible light to work with in the bedroom; 2) can't use flash around those brand-new eyes; and 3) Mama doesn't like messing with her babies. Today I had the one on the bed with me. Mama started mewing and came up to investigate. She sniffed for a couple of seconds, then grabbed the baby and jumped off the bed. Then she put the baby in the litterbox. Not sure what her intention was there.
I thought the little black cat would open his eyes first since he's so HUGE, but I was wrong. All their eyes are partially open at this point EXCEPT for his. This cat in the pic is the only one whose eyes are fully open, though.
Now that their eyes are open, it's a different experience having them around. Much more talking. Much more, "Hi there, little fella!" It's very cool.
In not-cute cat news, today I was eating my breakfast/lunch when Elliot came in to see if it was anything he wanted. I notice something on his butt. He gets closer. It's moving. It's a worm. So of course he sits on me. No, honest. Right on my bare leg. "THANKS, ELLIOT!"
From what I can tell, the only kind of parasite that would be hanging out on the OUTSIDE would be a tapeworm. Is that right? Does anyone have any (unfortunate) experience in this department?
