first 5k tonight so this evening, i ran the corporate, uh, run. 5k, 3.1 miles.

i had been intending to do some training for this - i can't tell you the last time i ran 3 miles, although i do know i've changed residences three times in the interim. and while i didn't want to embarass myself or anything, the weeks went by and i didn't do so much, trainingwise. not wanting to cop out, i decided to go anyway. i finished in 33:20. not so bad! i mean, as the LEAST ATHLETICALLY GIFTED PERSON ON THE FACE OF THE PLANET, i am just happy i managed to run the whole thing (mostly) and actually finish BEFORE OTHER, ACTUAL PEOPLE.

really, i don't have a competitive bone in my body -- it's been pulverized to dust over past 27 years. i don't even bother to bid on eBay these days; i'm not going to win anyway. but i do like to avoid embarassing myself if possible. so i'm glad i'm not embarassed... unless, of course, you consider ed's finishing time: 23:12. yes, over 10 full minutes faster than me. (yes, he rocks. :)

in any case, it was a good time. we got to see dan & tracey as well as friends matt and steve. i should've introduced those two, come to think of it.

good news - my two-day headache is FINALLY GONE. turns out i just needed to ice my head a little. old movies are good for something.  ¶ 10:30 PM
